The God of My Life, My Eternal Father

Here is one of my favorite hymns in Chinese, “Father, I know that You have measured the portion of my entire life. Therefore, I have no fear of all the necessary changes that are coming. Please grant me enduring faithfulness, for my heart longs to seek Your smiling face.” I grew up in the local churches, and I have sung many hymns since a young age. In the children's meeting, I got to hear the truth in the Bible.

However, my experience of the Lord remained shallow before I turned 26. I had sought the enjoyment of this world in my youth, and passed the darkest time in my life without the fellowship of Christian brothers and sisters. I tried to live my life as I pleased, and I was not willing to, even too ashamed, to admit that I am a Christian. There was no difference between my living and that of an unbeliever. I'll even say that my living had been worse than that of an unbeliever.

The One that I believe in is the God of my life; He has not forsaken me, for He is my God, my Father. I really appreciate that this hymn starts with, “Father,” for it shows a Father's care for His own son. Ever since the first day that a child is born, the Father plans and arranges the best environment for the child's growth. I had forsaken Him, but He never gave up on me. He arranged my whole life, and led me back to His house, placed me among the brothers and sisters so that I could enjoy all His riches in the church. Now He has placed me in a Bible training for the best perfecting that I can be a useful vessel for Him to use. My faith is in this One, the God of my life. The One I love is my eternal Father.
